The International Conference "Physics and Technologies of Advanced Materials-2021" was held at the Institute of Metals Superplasticity Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IMSP RAS) from 5 to 8 October 2021 under the auspices of the Year of Science and Technology. The conference was organized by IMSP RAS in cooperation with the Bashkir State University and the Ufa State Petroleum Technological University. The aim of the conference was to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas and new results for scientists working in various fields of science and technology of materials, such as the structure and properties of condensed media, their modeling, nanomaterials, materials mechanics, materials processing, materials in the oil and gas industry, soft materials etc.

The conference sessions were held in a combined format, including face-to-face and online sessions. The face-to-face sessions took place on October 5, 6, 2021 and brought together 104 participants, including 84 from Ufa and 20 from the following Russian cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Tolyatti, Yekaterinburg, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok, as well as from Turkey and Vietnam. Among the participants, 52% were young scientists. At these sessions, 40 oral reports were presented, including 2 plenary reports were held online, and 38 poster presentations. The online sessions, held on October 7-8, 2021, were attended by 50 researchers, including 9 foreign participants from Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Iran, Jordan and Spain. 36 oral and 8 poster presentations were presented. In general, the conference was attended by 151 people, including 11 from abroad, 55 from Ufa and 84 from other regions of Russia, 76 oral talks and 46 posters were presented. The information partners of the conference were the journals Letters on Materials and Metals (MDPI). Selected papers of the conference will be published in a special issue 4S of the journal “Letters on Materials”, and a more complete collection of papers will be published in the journal AIP Conference Proceedings.
