INSTITUTE FOR METALS SUPERPLASTICITY PROBLEMS OF THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES
INSTITUTE FOR METALS SUPERPLASTICITY PROBLEMS OF THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES (abbreviated name IMSP RAS) was founded in 1985 by the decision of the Council of Ministers of the USSR. The Institute is part of the Department of Power Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanics and Control Processes of the Russian Academy of Sciences. At present, it is one of the leading scientific institutions in Russia in the field of metallurgy, mechanical processing of metals and alloys, superplasticity and the development and creation of new materials. The functions and powers of the founder of the IASM RAS are carried out by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
The Institute for Metals Superplasticity Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences is included in the list of organizations of the 1st category (leading organizations).
The Institute carries out fundamental and applied research in the field of materials science, condensed matter physics and mechanics of deformable solids, aimed at the development of new, including nanostructured, structural and functional materials with improved properties, as well as resource-saving technologies for processing industrial alloys, intermetallic compounds.
Products:
• scientific articles, monographs, patents, etc.
• technologies for the production of semi-finished products and products;
• experimental batches of products
The innovation center is equipped with a modern park of metalworking equipment and equipment for deformation-technical processing of materials. In the IASM RAS, products and prototypes can be manufactured by orders of research and innovation departments of the Institute, as well as third-party organizations.
The Center for Collective Use of the IASM RAS provides services to the structural divisions of the Institute, as well as to third-party organizations.
The Dissertation Council of the IASM RAS accepts dissertations in 2 specialties:
04/01/07 - physics of condensed matter (physical and mathematical sciences)
05.16.01 - metal science and heat treatment of metals and alloys (technical sciences)
The Institute publishes the scientific journal “Letters on Materials”, indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases.
The Open School-Conference of the CIS Countries Ultrafine-grained and nanostructured materials is held every two years.
The Institute has a license to carry out educational activities in the field of postgraduate professional education (postgraduate study) in 5 areas of training in the field of physical, mathematical and technical sciences. Currently, two directions are being implemented:
03.06.01 - physics and astronomy
06.22.01 - materials technologies.
The IASM RAS has base departments at Bashkir State University and Ufa State Aviation Technical University. Scientific and educational centers have been organized jointly with these universities.
